1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the current Vuttara Studio project, including public information about Vuttara Studio on the NuttaButtaInAA website and any development, preview, or future public build of the current ground-up Vuttara Studio rewrite.
The current rewrite is a new Rust-based application using Slint for the application UI, a separate VuttaraStudioEngine, and a wgpu/WGSL compositor architecture. It supersedes the previous Vuttara Studio software line.
As of this effective date, the new Vuttara Studio rewrite is still in development and there is no public rewrite build available for download.
2. Privacy approach
Vuttara Studio is being designed as local-first production software.
The current rewrite does not operate a Vuttara Studio account service, cloud project-sync service, first-party usage analytics service, or automatic crash-report/upload service.
If a future version adds an account, cloud sync, telemetry, crash uploading, hosted collaboration, or another material first-party data service, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when that feature is made available.
3. Information stored locally
Development builds and future public builds may store information locally on the device in order to provide application functionality. Depending on the implemented version, this may include:
- application preferences and UI state
- projects, scenes, sources, transforms, and layout state
- media references and user-selected files
- recording and output settings
- capture and audio device selections
- local caches
- diagnostic or development logs
- other settings needed to restore a project or application session
Local data remains on the device unless the user deliberately exports it, places it in a synchronized location controlled by another provider, sends it for support, or uses a feature that necessarily transmits information to another service.
Users are responsible for protecting their device, operating-system account, project files, recordings, credentials, and backups.
4. Capture, audio, recording, and streaming features
The current development foundation is focused on the application/engine boundary, scene editing, transforms, hit testing, resizing, and real-time preview/compositor behavior. Capture, audio, recording, streaming, and hardware-encoding features are part of the planned production pipeline and may not yet be available in a given development build.
When those features are implemented, Vuttara Studio may request operating-system permission to access user-selected resources such as:
- a screen, monitor, application window, or game
- a camera
- a microphone
- desktop or system audio, where supported by the operating system
- files or folders selected for media input or recording output
Preview, composition, and recording are intended to be processed locally unless the user chooses a feature that transmits output to another service.
Vuttara Studio does not obtain ownership of content merely because the software processes, previews, records, or transmits it.
5. Streaming and third-party services
When a user chooses to stream, upload, publish, or otherwise transmit content to a third-party service, that service will receive the audio, video, metadata, credentials, network information, and other data required for the selected operation.
Examples may include user-selected streaming platforms, RTMP/RTMPS endpoints, content-delivery services, or other third-party destinations.
Those services are independent of Vuttara Studio. Their privacy policies, account rules, retention practices, security practices, and legal terms apply to the information they receive.
Future Studio releases may provide presets or integrations for third-party services, but a preset or integration does not mean that NuttaButtaInAA operates or controls that service.
6. Credentials and authentication information
The current rewrite does not promise or document a specific credential-storage implementation until that feature is implemented and validated.
Future versions that allow users to save stream keys, passwords, tokens, or similar secrets should use platform-appropriate security mechanisms where supported. No storage method can eliminate every risk.
Users should protect streaming credentials, rotate exposed credentials, secure their operating-system account, and follow the credential-management guidance of the applicable third-party service.
7. Network requests
The current rewrite does not require a Vuttara Studio cloud account.
Future versions may make network requests when the user chooses a network-dependent feature, for example:
- streaming or transmitting content to a user-selected endpoint
- checking an official update source
- downloading an explicitly requested update or component
- opening documentation, support, or release information
- using a future integration that clearly requires network access
The destination service can ordinarily receive technical information inherent in an Internet connection, such as an IP address, request timing, protocol information, and information included in the request.
8. Website and hosting data
The public Vuttara Studio pages are part of the NuttaButtaInAA website.
Website hosting and security providers may process standard web-request information such as IP address, request path, browser or device information, timestamps, and security-related metadata as part of normal website delivery and abuse prevention.
The website may link to GitHub and other external services. Visiting an external service is governed by that service's own privacy practices.
9. Support and correspondence
If a user contacts NuttaButtaInAA or Vuttara Studio for support, privacy questions, feedback, or another request, the information the user chooses to provide may be received and retained as needed to respond, maintain appropriate records, investigate problems, protect the projects, or meet legal obligations.
Do not send passwords, stream keys, private authentication tokens, or unnecessary sensitive information in support messages.
10. No first-party advertising profile
The current Vuttara Studio rewrite does not create a first-party advertising profile and does not sell personal information to advertisers.
Third-party websites or platforms independently chosen by a user may have their own advertising and tracking practices.
11. Retention and deletion
Local Studio data is generally controlled through the user's device, files, application settings, and operating-system storage.
Information under NuttaButtaInAA's direct control, such as support or privacy correspondence, is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was received, legitimate security or record-keeping needs, dispute resolution, or legal obligations, and may then be deleted or anonymized where appropriate.
Infrastructure-provider logs are retained according to the applicable provider's configuration and policies.
12. Security
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used for personal information under NuttaButtaInAA's control, taking into account the nature and sensitivity of the information.
No device, application, network, recording workflow, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Users should keep the operating system and Studio build current, protect account credentials, maintain backups of important projects and recordings, and avoid exposing stream keys or other secrets.
13. Access, correction, and privacy requests
Subject to applicable law, an individual may ask about personal information under NuttaButtaInAA's control and may request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.

A request may require enough information to identify the relevant correspondence or record and to verify that the requester is entitled to receive or change it.
14. Canada, Alberta, and cross-border processing
NuttaButtaInAA is operated from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) may apply to private-sector personal-information handling in Alberta. The federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) may apply in circumstances within federal jurisdiction or involving applicable interprovincial or international commercial personal-information flows.
Some infrastructure providers, GitHub services, streaming platforms, or other user-selected services may process information outside Alberta or outside Canada. Information processed in another jurisdiction can be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
15. Children and legal capacity
Vuttara Studio is general-purpose production software and is not designed as a service specifically directed to children.
A person who is not legally able to accept applicable software terms or authorize data handling on their own should use the software only with any consent or supervision required by applicable law.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as the Vuttara Studio rewrite gains real features, platforms, integrations, network services, or public releases.
Material new first-party data practices will be described in an updated policy with a revised effective or last-updated date.
